This past weekend I had the honor to photograph a proposal for marriage. Kyle contacted me several weeks ago and asked if I would travel to the beach and capture the moment that he asked Brittany to marry him. Absolutely thrilled to be honored to photograph that special moment that he has been planning for the past 6 months. Of course she said yes. I immediately downloaded the images and sent them over to the future bride who within 20 minutes posted to both Instagram and Facebook.
Usually this is as far as those memories of the moment land. Maybe they will make an 8x10 of their favorite and put it in a frame to sit on a dresser. Or a few 5x7s for parents and grandparents.
However, what Kyle doesn't know is that Brittany asked if I would create a painting from one of the images. She never wants the memory of the day and what it meant to fade away. She commissioned a 14x20 framed canvas to hang in their home. She is bursting to tell Kyle but as he patiently held onto that ring and his plan to surprise her for many months, she is going to wait until it is complete.
They will look at a piece of art that shows the love, emotion and commitment that they made that day and relive the emotions over and over.
